Compounds like triclocarbon and triclosan are extensively used as the essential parts of soaps with anti bacterial properties. Debates have been held earlier about the efficacy of antibacterial soaps. As per the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), products with triclosan content do not provide desired result in alleviating infections of gastrointestinal tract. As per the research report of microbiologist Stuart Levy from Tufts University, the medicines and soaps with anti bacterial formulation may lead to loss of balance of microorganisms that surround us without damaging bacteria. Later, it was noticed that the procedures adopted by Levy were not valid to prove the anti bacterial quality of triclosan. The FDA on September 2, 2016 had banned the application of nineteen antibacterial chemicals like triclocarbon and triclosan used to produce antibacterial soaps on the basis of insufficient scientific proof about their bacteria resistance capacity.
